FTR, the leader in transportation intelligence, has hired Don Ake as Vice President of Commercial Vehicles. In his new role with the company, Ake is directing the enhancement of FTR’s Truck & Trailer Outlook product.
Bloomington, IN (December 3, 2013) FTR has released preliminary data showing November Class 8 truck net orders at 20,915 units - the second consecutive month above the twenty thousand unit threshold. While November 2013 orders were 6% above a year ago they were down 19% month-over-month.
FTR's Shippers Conditions Index (SCI) improved marginally in September but remained deep in negative territory, rising 0.8 points from the previous month to a current reading of -7.9. However even this small improvement in the environment affecting shippers is not expected to hold.
