FTR Reports Preliminary Class 8 Orders Continue Slowdown in April

Nashville, IN (May 3, 2012) FTR Associates has released preliminary data showing April Class 8 truck total net orders at 16,877 units, the lowest number since September 2010 and 55% below the same month a year ago. Preliminary order numbers are for all major North American OEM’s. April orders continue the downward trend in Class 8 orders for 2012, with annualized units for the past three months now at 234,600.


FTR Shippers Conditions Index Tumbles in February

Nashville, IN (April 16, 2012) FTR Associates’ Shippers Conditions Index (SCI) for February declined by a full point from the previous month to a reading of -5.6, as demand for trucking services grew strongly in what is normally a slack month.


FTR Associates Reports Preliminary Class 8 Orders for March 11% Below February

Nashville, IN (April 4, 2012)  FTR Associates has released preliminary data showing March  Class 8 truck total net orders were 11% below February at 19,682 units for all major North American OEMs.  March 2012 orders were 32% below the same month of 2011 and reflect the third consecutive month-over-month decline in Class 8 orders.
